Lead/Supervising Immigration Attorney BASTA, Inc., is Southern California’s most comprehensive non-profit organization dedicated to housing and tenant rights. Founded in 2005, the non-profit organization has three full-service offices (Los Angeles, Lancaster, and Long Beach) and 24 personnel including 14 attorneys.
In 2015, the organization expanded its non-profit activities to include full-scale immigration services under the trade name of BIENVENIDOS (bienvenidos.net). We are seeking an attorney to handle the day-to-day casework, supervise future expansion, and lead the division’s community outreach and marketing efforts. The immigration division is fully operational, with experienced staff, and a steady flow of clients.

2-5 years of immigration practice, including court experience. Candidates will also need to be able to screen for and prepare the following forms of relief: (a) family petitions, (b) adjustment of status, (c) naturalization, (d) DACA, (e) advance parole, (f) U-visa, (g) VAWA, (i) I-589, (j) 42B, (k) TVPRA, (l) SIJS, (m) motions to re-open, (n) I-90, (o) consular process, (p) I-601A, and (q) parole in place. Ability to assume responsibility quickly and work independently. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Cultural competency in order to work with people from diverse backgrounds and across boundaries of class, race, age, nationality, etc. Ability to build trust and rapport with low-income persons. Ability to use good judgment and multitask. Spanish language skills are required (be ready to converse in Spanish during your interview).
Commensurate with qualifications and experience. Compensation includes revenue sharing possibilities. Excellent benefits.
